Travel always give me the vibe of excitement. I love travelling to other places. This time i went to Thailand, the land of beautiful amazing beaches and islands. The feeling of hanging out by the sea is an awesome feeling ever. In each country that i have travelled for every year will have a seaview theme adventure. Therefore, this year i choose Aonang. Aonang is located at Mueng Krabi district. If you guys don't know, Aonang is a large bay with scenic and mindblowing beaches, caves, islands or private islands nearby. It is like the main spot to go around to every seaview and main attractions among tourist. Aonang is very tourist oriented. You can see many tourist here. So, lets diggin what did i do in Aonang for few days of adventure and exploration there. I am totally having so much fun! Let me explain more about the activities and wonderful places that we did.
I had booked the AA ticket couple months before i went to Aonang. It was on sale. Yes i always bought sale's ticket only because i am a bit of travel-ticket-cheapskate...LOLL!! Actually this is my second time to Krabi. Few years before, i only did jungle retreat in a private island at Railay Beach, just that. This year i decided to totally explore Aonang. Guess what, i am so satisfied! And of course i went there with my travel buddies. First and foremost, i did a travel itinerary before exploring Aonang. It is a must to have an itinerary so that the travel journey is in order and not miss out. We took the afternoon flight to go there. There was a funny moment while we waited for the flight. We were so excited for the journey and our gate is the last gate in the airport. We got to see the view of airplane take off and touchdown because our gate was at the end of waiting area. We were busy to take photo and some videos of airplane that i didn't noticed i've received few calls from AA. I thought it was a scammer, therefore i choose to ignore it and continue to see the airplane take off & landing. Guess what, we were actually late for boarding and that is the reason why AA called me. HAHAHH! We were the last person to check in on board! The ground staff there said she had called me many times but no answer. LOLLL..and now i remember why i received an anonymous call just now. LOLLL!! However, after we done with our boarding thingy, the pilot said that the airplane is delayed due to some issue. Yeahh and we hangout at the boarding area with pilot, co-pilot and stewardess there. About 30minutes after, we were allowed to get in the flight. We arrived to Krabi International Airport a little delay.
I am speechless after arrived to the airport. It is totally different from before. They have upgraded and enlarged the airport. I am a bit of confuse and lost at the moment because all changed. But we managed it well. The airport is big and spacious. After done with the custom/immigration, we need to find the way out to get a transport to Krabi Bus Station. We already booked our motorcycle for our days in Aonang. It is the cheapest motorcycle rent compare to others. We took a mini van to go to the bus station to pick up our motorcycle. It is pretty close to the airport around 10 minutes. Having own transport is much easier and cheaper than booking tuk-tuk or tour guide to explore Aonang. We settled with the motorbike rent and continued our journey to find any convenient store to buy DTAC Tourist Simcard. The best simcard to be used among tourist. After done with all the stuffs, we head straight to our hotel. But, before that we stopped by to grab some late lunch. We found a Halal restaurant (Sareefah Restaurant) which is quite near to our hotel. We ate our lunch because we were pretty damn hungry. The food was delicious and you can find variety of menus there. Done filling up our stomach, we went to our hotel to check in while enjoying the Aonang beach view along the way. Finally, we reached our hotel and we were so happy with our room. It is very close to the Noppharat Thara Beach, just a 3minutes walking distance. The room is cozy and comfortable. We took a nap, rest for awhile and get fresh. Actually it was quite a long nap and when we woke up it's already dark outside. Then we took bath and get ready to walk around the Aonang town. We continued our activity at night time. There are various of shops, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and night markets were pretty nearby to our hotel. Therefore, we hangout to see and explore those shops there to find out any interesting stuffs there. Our stomach we still full due to the big lunch in the afternoon that we ate just now. We decided to grab a mini dinner bites at one of the restaurant there. The Aonang town is kind of busy town and such a vibrant town at night because it is just opposite to the beach. You can here the beach waves at night by the roadside. After we done grab our mini dinner, we continued our plan to walk along the shops & beach at night. During the walk, we passed by many bars and cannabis shops. Yes, Thailand allow their citizen to sell cannabis openly. Anyone can have a try and buy the cannabis. There are more bars than restaurant around Aonang. It was kinda loud along the roadside because most of the bars are located there. So, don't be surprised if you can hear loud music and people shouting or screaming along the road especially bars opposite to the Aonang beach view. I saw some tourist hangout and dance until the roadside area..LOLL! I think people or tourist that come to Krabi and wanted to have fun with friends can come to Aonang to enjoy their nightlife and entertainment here. The nightlife here are totally different vibes. You can see many type of people here and don't forget to take photo with many ladyboys in front of the night bars *biggrinnn* Most of the ladyboys dress up nicely and with interesting dresses but you will need to pay them if you wanted to take a photo with them. When it almost midnight, we walked back to our hotel and stop by at 7E nearby our hotel. We bought some drinks and snacks to eat at hotel and for tomorrow breakfast. Tomorrow will be the start of day for us to mainly explore Aonang. We need so much energy for tomorrow activities and a good night sleep is a must.
The next morning arrived with the promise of adventure. I took pretty decent and simple breakfast o start the day. Breakfast is a must so that we have energy to do many activities during the day. After breakfast, i set off toward the Thung Teao Forest National Park — a stunning jungle sanctuary. Today, i will explore nature, enjoy with nature and surroundings. The journey ride was awesome because left and right side of me are full of trees. I got a lot of fresh air and oxygen today. A walk through the forest felt like stepping into another world where ancient trees stood like guardians and the forest hummed with secrets. Finally, i reached the entrance gate to go to the Emerald Pool & Blue Pool. It took about 15minutes walk for you to finally arrive to the pool. There are 2 routes to reach but i choose a route that less people. I don't like crowd and it is more comfortable and less chaos for me to take many photos. Oh my gracious!, it appeared before me, glowing with its natural turquoise color. I couldn’t help but admire its beauty. A mystical green oasis that felt too beautiful for this world. Seems like i stepped into its cooling embrace, letting the water wash away reality and pull you deeper into the magic of it. A 15minutes walk deeper into the forest brought you to the magical pool — impossibly blue, still and mesmerizing. Time froze around me. Speechless. Even though swimming wasn’t allowed due to the quicksand at Blue Pool, the view alone made the journey worthwhile. So, i continue my water activity at Emerald Pool to swim there and play along with the beautiful butterflies. Please take note that the stones around the Emerald Pool are a bit slippery. Becareful. Done with the blue & emerald pool color for 2 and a half hours. Next came the soothing Klong Thom Hot Springs, where warm natural waters helped wash away every bit of exhaustion. Like a true traveler of balance, i moved from cool waters to warm ones. The natural hot water wrapped around you like nature’s own embrace, soothing every muscle and whispering, “Rest, brave traveler… more awaits.” I love it here because the natural hot springs is amazing but you are not allowed to deep into for more than 15minutes. I spend time there for an hour and a half. Those activities made me felt so hungry and need food. I ride bake to Aonang town and ordered a lot of food like a monster. I ate the late lunch happily and my tummy is excellently full with delicious Thai food. By the time you headed back to Ao Nang, refreshed and content, the day was already moving into golden hour. What better place to witness sunset than Noppharat Thara Beach? As sunset approached, as the sky turned gold, pink and orange, i stood there watching nature put on its most breathtaking show. It felt like the universe performed just for me. I walked along the beach until dark and enjoyed watching the fire show by the beach. A peaceful return to the hotel and a relaxing stroll along the lively streets of Ao Nang. The evening ended with simple but tasty Thai dinner. Then a strolled walked along the Aonang town with some rolled ice cream by the road as a dessert. Tomorrow will be more challenging day.
Okay, this day began with strength and determination — because today, i visited the Tiger Cave Temple. The day you tested your strength, spirit and sanity. The highest mountain in Krabi where you can see the golden color Buddha statue from far on the top of mountain. Yes i climbed this mountain. Even though the climb is famous for testing the limits of visitors, i've faced it with patience and courage. The stairs - legendary (1256 steps), the climb - brutal. But i still climbed them. Guess what, during the climb it was suddenly rain heavily at the top. I climbed with the pouring rain and it was the coolest experience ever. Step by step, like a warrior ascending to the heavens. At the top, the panoramic view of Krabi was worth every step. A panorama of mountains, clouds and endless horizon. I stood victorious. I met a lot of tourist along the climbing. We support and give motivation to each other that we've met so that we could proceed the climbing with energy. The suffer to the top has gone. And now i continued to descend from the mountain which is challenging too. You have to control you leg and knee to step down the stairs. I can't wait to reach down at the end of the stairs because i cannot feel my legs anymore. My knees felt like vibrating and moving around...LOLLL!! Going up or going down also tested your strength. Then, i have a coconut water and coconut ice cream to chill for awhile before went to other place. From temple heights to crystal waters, my next stop was Klong Root, a clear-water canal where you kayaked through peaceful surroundings. I went there by bike and need to pass by local houses and went deep into their village to reach the canal. It was a beautiful river. The calmness of the place gave you a moment to breathe, slow down and simply enjoy the beauty around you. Klong Root is famous where crystal-clear waters and gentle flowing streams invited you into tranquility. I kayaked as if gliding through a dream — nature calm, water pure, silence sacred. I am in peace at the moment. Witnesses to see the amazing nature, environment, clear water and even i could see fishes, algae and plants inside the clear water. The water is so refreshing and cool. You can swim too. After almost 3 hours there, i went back. The energy shifted. Later, i returned to Ao Nang to go to hotel, rest and changed clothes before walked to the famous Monkey Trail. A narrow, winding path through the forest, patrolled by furry bandits known for stealing food, bags and pride. It is a short but scenic pathway filled with mischievous monkey residents keeping an eye on your belongings. The monkeys watched me like i was entering their kingdom — but i survived, unrobbed and undefeated. I also managed to take video and some photos too. As the trail opened up, i found yourself on Pai Plong Beach, a quiet and secluded paradise perfect for unwinding after a long adventure-filled day. A reward worthy of your bravery. It was a hidden beach which opened up like a secret place. A perfect secret place to watch and witness the most beautiful golden hour. The sunset view was so mind blowing. I watched sunset at the middle of the ocean. The beach there provides a floating walkway from the side of the beach to the middle of the ocean which you can walk on it without any hesitation. It's like a floating plywood and you can feel the waves too. I have 1 magical hour there. I'm the happiest girl ever. Then i walked back to Aonang and passed through the Monkey Trail in dark time. I also witnessed to see so many fireflies there! Dinner in Ao Nang wrapped up the night, leaving me content and ready for the final part of my journey. Dinner that night tasted better simply because i earned it after experience a lot of challenges today.
Final morning arrived gently because it will be the last day of this trip. I have done packed all my stuffs and checked out from hotel. After breakfast, i headed to Krabi Town. My first stop was the iconic Mud Crab Sculpture, a symbol of Krabi town and a perfect photo moment. Spend there for few minutes. I then visited the serene Wat Kaew Korawaram, admiring the temple’s peaceful atmosphere and beautiful architecture. A sense of peace washed over me, the temple gleaming quietly against the sky. Nice design. Then, the Mangrove Walkway was my next destination, offering a calm escape among winding roots and quiet waters — a place that reminded me how beautiful nature can be when untouched and still. It offered final moment of nature — wooden pathways over quiet waters, surrounded by roots twisting like the world’s veins. I walked slowly, absorbing the calm, sealing the memory into my heart. Finally, your journey neared its end. It was the time. I returned my motorbike at the Krabi Bus Terminal, took the shuttle back to the airport and said goodbye to Ao Nang — with heart full, mind refreshed and soul deeply satisfied with this journey adventures.
