As always, every year we will go for a family vacation together to other places or other country to enjoy ourselves and for bonding time. We love to travel a lot but we don't do luxury vacation. We are the family who enjoy reasonable, light, simple and bagpacker vacation as long as those becomes with beautiful memories and we are having fun. I've been eyeing cheap flight ticket for our vacation few months already because i know every year we will surely go vacation together as a family. Therefore, i got my eyes wide open for the cheapest flight tickets..LOLL!! Finally, i told them to travel to Krung Thep Maha Nakhon or known as Bangkok. The best city to travel in Thailand. They agreed and as fast as lightning i bought all the cheapest return flight ticket ever. We are all set. Next step, i will book hotels for us and prepare the itinerary for our activities & food hunting there. I love to plan my travel's itinerary, activities and food that will be going to explore during the travel journey. I feel satisfy and happy if i got my own plan or itinerary before going to travel. IT IS A MUST & COMPULSORY!! I’ve woven in the places, food, transport and day-by-day flow i planned, so it feels personal and real rather than generic.

Our Bangkok family holiday began with excitement bubbling long before we touched down. Early that morning, we gathered at KLIA, luggage packed and spirits high, ready to trade routine for adventure. Our long-awaited family holiday are filled with excitement in the air as we checked in for our flight. Our journey to Bangkok is around 2 and a half hours. By mid-morning, the city of angels welcomed us at Don Mueang Airport and just like that, our Bangkok story began. We landed safely at Don Mueang Airport—our first step into the vibrant city of Bangkok. The customs and immigration clearance are smooth and had no issue at all. Then, we navigated our way to the airport bus terminal. We took the A3 bus into the city felt like our first taste of local life. We need to wait for an hour for our bus to arrive at the arrival gate. There are a lot of taxis too but we prefer to ride the bus there. Our bus will stop near to Silom district. The streets buzzed with movement, tuk-tuks zipped past and towering buildings slowly gave way to colourful neighborhoods. Watching Bangkok unfold through the bus windows was fascinating—busy roads, colourful signage and a mix of modern buildings and old neighbourhoods. We walked for 5 minutes from the bus stop to our hotel. Soon after, we arrived at Silom Space Hostel, checked in, keep our luggage and took some time to freshen up after the journey. After checking in and freshening up, hunger led us straight into one of Bangkok’s greatest treasures—its food. We are so lucky that our hotel is closed to the BTS station..just 1 minute walk only. Therefore, for this holiday we mainly used BTS as our transportation which is much more convenient and cheaper. We bought BTS card each to make it smooth & fast process to ride the BTS. First thing that we did is to find place to eat. With hunger kicking in, we headed out for lunch and our first exploration. Our first real adventure took us to Chatuchak Weekend Market, a maze of stalls bursting with colours, aromas and energy. Whether by BTS or MRT, the journey itself felt like an adventure. We took BTS to go there. We laughed as we tried not to get lost, bargained playfully and finally sat down for a satisfying halal lunch at Saman Islam, soaking in the lively atmosphere around us. It was chaotic, vibrant and unforgettable. Once there, we were instantly immersed in a sea of stalls selling everything imaginable—clothes, souvenirs, handicrafts, snacks and street food. We enjoyed a satisfying halal lunch at Saman Islam, seated among the buzz of shoppers and vendors. It was the perfect introduction to Bangkok’s lively street culture. Then, we get some Thai's dessert & snacks there during walking and browsing the huge market until late evening. We bought some famous Thai's inhalers & clothes to bring back to hotel. As evening approached, we made our way to IconSiam by BTS and MRT. Iconsiam is the biggest shopping mall in the city. A lot of luxury brands to unique art, from delicious dining spots to spectacular water and light shows. The highlight was the musical water fountain show, which we watched together as colourful lights danced on the water at 7 pm, 8pm and 9pm. We watched the 9pm show only. Besides that, we could see a lot of colorful cruises passing by the Iconsiam. because the mall is standing by the Chao Phraya River, surrounded by city lights. It felt like  magical. That night, Bangkok showed us its magical side. At IconSiam, we stood together by the river, watching the water fountain dance to music as the city lights reflected on the Chao Phraya River and lights of cruises. We end our first night with colorful fountain show and went back to hotel to rest because tomorrow will be another adventure for us.

The next morning, adventure called early. I booked a private van that can fit 9 people. The van is big and the interior are awesome & comfortable. For second day we went to several tourist hotspot and famous area. Our driver picked us up in front of our hotel. Before that, i managed to go to 7Eleven opposite to our hotel to brought some snacks & drinks along the journey today. A van picked us up and we set off on a countryside adventure away from the city. Our first stop was the famous Maeklong Train Market. The journey took 1 hour to go there from Bangkok city. The journey took about an hour, and arriving just in time to watch the train pass through the narrow market streets was an unforgettable experience. We arrived there at 10am. We purposely to arrived on that time because we wanted to witness the train passing by along the market at 11.10am. The market is so long and a lot of stalls there. We were watching something truly unique at Maeklong Train Market—seeing stall owners calmly pulling back their goods as a train passed right through the market. It felt unreal, and we stood there in awe. From there, we drifted through the canals at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, waving to vendors and enjoying the slow rhythm of life on water.
